This vivacious tropical cover for the Monogram label (disc: Kalypso Records Ltd., Jamaica) appears to be the handiwork of the same uncredited artist who illustrated Ritmo's Calypsos from Jamaica. The above 7" EP features tracks by the Duke of Iron ("Big Bamboo"), Lord Kitchener ("Big Toe"), the Four Deuces ("Lemme Go Emelda"), and Sir George Brown ("He Like It, She Like It"). The A-sides, with Kitch and Duke of Iron, are classic Trinidad calypso, while the artists on side B reflect the Jamaican mento variant.
We would appreciate any information about the illustrator, whose style is audacious and singular.

I'll be sure and do that the next time I'm up north (in KW now) - I have the LP this is from, with the same cover art, but it is in deep storage. Could be a while. Meanwhile there is an LP for sale at Amazon for $149. It's a fun record but not worth that!.
I just bought this for $42.46 on eBay. My parents had a copy, then it became mine, but I threw it away with the rest of my albums, and have regretted it ever since. I plan to find someone who can copy it to a CD.
